Traducir la poesía de Poe, el Proteo involuntario

Abstract

This essay explores the possibilities of translating a number of poems by Edgar Allan Poe into Spanish, in Mexico. Emphasis is placed on the limitations —or likely formal advantages— presented to the translator by Poe’s schematic ideas on poetic composition, particularly those in which sense is subordinated to the poet’s rhythmical and metrical peculiarities.
